May the force be with you: building a home in another galaxy

// May 4th, 2019 //

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

That is the classic opening crawl, a signature of every numbered film of the Star Wars series. If you look at it from another perspective, it could also be the start of any story related to the Baja Peninsula, and possibly to any story related to building your dream Baja home; from finding the right Los Cabos architect whose work will fulfill your lifestyle dreams, to the materials and a reliable construction team, sometimes these tasks might feel like from another galaxy! Baja’s unique location (being a peninsula and surrounded by two bodies of ocean water), make building a project a task on an entirely different level than on the mainland.

Today is May the 4th, which among Star Wars fans (yes, we’re one of them!) stands for “Star Wars Day” based on the relationship with the famous phrase in the saga: “May the force be with you” (May the 4th be with you, get it?). And here in the office, we can’t find a better lecture for inspiration for this day, than “The Illustrated Star Wars Universe.”

This book is one of our most precious jewels in the office. Although it might not seem an architecture book at first glance, it is undoubtedly a great source of inspiration for our creativity. We believe in always being creative, in developing unique ideas and giving our clients and projects a unique character without having to fall into repetitions or false copies of architectural styles and/or natural conditions.

Observing the magnificent illustrations of the book (by Ralph McQuarrie) and reading the description of the worlds of Star Wars (by Kevin J. Anderson), they encourage us to continue creating and looking for new ways and solutions for our projects in the unique conditions of Los Cabos and Baja California Sur. Many times, the beauty of Baja landscapes can appear directly from another galaxy, and we love integrating the architectural design with the surrounding landscapes.

If you are looking for a Cabo architect who makes easy and earthly what seems to be another galaxy in terms of the designing and construction of your dream home in Los Cabos, don’t hesitate to contact us. Even if building your home in another country might seem a daunting and ‘alien’ task, we will translate it in a familiar, “terrestrial” language, so you can have full certainty and enjoy the entire process of building your second home or vacation residence in Los Cabos or wider Baja.

If you feel you might need more help than just the force on your side, to build your home in Los Cabos, don’t hesitate to contact us at: mariano@a10studio.net, we will help you with all of our Jedi architect tricks!

Below, we leave you some samples of why we love this book and how it blows our imagination! May the force be with you!
